result is out

I had just received the call from kkh with regards to the down syndrome test that i had done on tues.

baby's down syndrome risk is consider low. the result is 1:13113. i'm actually quite surprise to get this result, didn't know the difference will be so great. on the day of scan itself, doc mention that based on the nuchal translucency (something at the back of baby's neck), the risk factor is 1:632 (which is already low, anyone with 1:300 is consider high). then with the presence of nasal bone, the risk factor becomes 1:2320 and now with the blood test and result become 1:13113.

very pleased to know that baby's had low risk for down syndrome. can have a very happy new year liao.

i had also requested to do a scan on my next visit instead of waiting till march. not sure if doc will let me do it, still waiting for their call with regards to this. don't want to wait till march to see, that's a very long wait.

4th gynae visit - 1st trimester scan

went to do the first trimester scan today. darling couldn't go with me cos the appointment is in the morning. he miss seeing baby today. on our last visit, baby is not moving but today i actually saw him bouncing quite a number of times. its quite amazing. today. based on scan result, baby's risk for down syndrome is low. result is 1:2320. for more accurate result will have to wait for 2-3 days after the blood test. well, at least without the blood test, its good enough to know that the risk is so low. 

 

i'm now at 12 weeks and 1 day (if i didn't see wrongly) and weigh 46.8kg and baby is about 6cm. 

 

after the scan, i went round the shops in kk hoping to find some nice maternity dress. although i don't really need them now but just want to have a look at them. nothing caught my attention so i took their shuttle service to novena mrt station. from there, i walk to united square. at modern maternity, i actually came out with 3 dresses. oh my...... but their dresses are quite nice and most importantly you won't look like you are wearing a maternity dress at all. after giving birth, i think i can still wear these dress for work which is good. hehehe.... and also i'm not spending my own money but darling's. hahahah.......

rotting in office

i'm rotting in office again. boss went out for meeting so no work for me, at least with her around, i can get her to give me some work to do. 

 

i have run out of ideas of what to do liao. enough of surfing net yet can't play games in the office. any suggestions of what i can do. the job scope here is hardly 20% of my previous job. don't know how long i can tahan here if this goes on. if no improvement, i think i will have to quit by end of the year. 

 

well, the only good thing is that i have not been feeling well, so i can always take a short rest in the office since not much work is given. 

 

anyone go lobang for part-time job like data entry to recommend?

don't understand

sometimes i just don't understand why people complain so much? if your job is to raise po, then no matter how many orders i send out in a day, you just simply have to go ahead and raise the po once approval is given. what is there to complain about? after complaining, you still need to do the job right? so what is the point?

3rd gynae visit

darling got to work a bit late today so i went to kk on my own and wait for him. luckily, he still make it in time to go in for the scan with me. thus, he got to see baby too. heheh..... finally, we get to see baby's shape forming liao. from the position, we feel that baby must be sleeping while the scan is done. 

 

darling said baby is just like me always sleep. hehehehe..... whatever, we are glad to see that baby is growing well and dr concludes that baby is consider stable liao. however, he still give me the hormones pill to continue for another 2 weeks. he said, we got to stop it gradually and not suddenly. next visit will be 3 weeks later but we won't be seeing him.

 

we will be doing the first trimester test to test for down syndrome. we told him, we are kiasu and kiasee parents so whatever he recommends we will do. hahahah..... 

 

i was also given some cod liver oil capsule and calcium tablets. these are supposed to be taken on our next visit. but i told him, i'm a lousy mummy. i don't know how to swallow medicine. all that he had given me so far, i had chewed all of them up. thus, it will hard for me to eat the cod liver oil. good thing is that he said, i try with what he give me today. if i really can't take it, then we will try to find other alternatives next time. phew!!!

 

i'm at my 9 weeks and 3 days today and weigh 46.2kg now. baby is 24.8mm now. so happy to see baby today, really can't wait to see baby again in 3 weeks time. but i wonder if there will be scan done then. hmm.....
